It's been awhile, hasn't it? Yeah, I know. Secret sleepers came out last Thursday, along with rankings for the Thanksgiving games, instead of Sunday, and we haven't heard from each other since. Well, now everything is back to normal. The week recap is the start of that, the waiver wire column will come out tomorrow, and the radio show will be on Wednesday, not Tuesday. That's how things will be from here on out. Secret sleepers will either come out on Thursday, or Sunday. Also, I will try to do Thursday night game rankings, no promises though. Anyway, for the majority, this is the last week of your regular season, and it's potentially win and in. Let's get to it!
Matthew Stafford came out strong, throwing 5 tds, and is someone I would target off of waivers for the playoffs. I will caution, he is going up against Green Bay on Thursday night this week, but the Saints in week 15, and 49ers in week 16. As far as Lions rb's, Riddick in ppr, and Bell in standard is who I would target. Tony Romo was hurt for the second time this season, and is out for season. Dez is not a top 10 wr to me anymore. I wouldn't bench him, but temper expectations. Someone to add, esp in deep leagues, Cole Beasley. Cassel and Beasley have a strong connection going back to their practicing days as backups. Jay Cutler had a 5 game stretch of 21 plus fantasy points that ended just three weeks ago, but the last two weeks has failed to obtain 15 points. With that being said, if you need a qb, Cutler could end the season on a similar streak. 49ers and Redskins in the next two weeks then Tampa Bay in championship week. Also, as long as Bennett is out, Zach Miller is a viable te streaming option. And, Eddie Lacy is back. This has been his slowest start, out of his three seasons, but he's back so start him. Matt Ryan has been slumping the last couple weeks, but last week could have just been due to a tough match up. With that being said, the Ryan owner might want to start looking for other options as the Falcons face the Panthers twice during the fantasy playoffs, week 14 and 16. Unfortunately, you've got to start Julio, which might not be all too bad as garbage time points still count. Also, Tamme a viable te option as long as Hankerson is out. Tyler Eifert left his game early, but appears to be okay. Monitor his status throughout the week. Also, we saw Gurley's first stinker, which was bound to happen. I'm still starting him from hear on out. Brian Hoyer had the dream match up this past week and blew it, registering less than 18 fantasy points. I'm not sure if the Saints defense got better or Hoyer's inefficiency came to light, probably both, but more of the latter. Alfred Blue returned a solid game for you, if you had him in your flex. As for the saints, I'm not starting any of them..with confidence, moving forward. Brees, you might have to start, which isn't entirely too bad as they'll be chasing points, but can he score points is the question? As for Ingram, I can't feel confident starting him, because the defense is so bad they'll have to abandon the run so early in the game that Ingram won't get you anything esp since he's not a pass catching back. Quietly, Sir Matt Hassleback is undefeated as a starter this season. He even got pre-season breakout canidate, Donte Moncreif involved for just over 110 yards. I'd wait and see if he can do it again before I start him but this is a positive sign. Phillip Rivers, and the Chargers, snap a 6 game losing streak thanks to the Jags. Rivers, you've been starting, Gates, you've been starting, and the same for Stevie Johnson, most likely. A potential waiver wire claim, this week, is Dontrele Inman who also scored this week. As for the Jags, Bortles is proving my pre-season hype to be right as he is right around top 12 fantasy qb territory. All Jags pass catchers have to be in your lineup, in this order: Robinson, Thomas, Hurns, Walters. Important to note, Hurns left this game on a cart so his status for ROS is up in the air, as of right now. Andy Reid, and the Chiefs, are on a 5 game winning streak, after starting 1-5, and also appear to have a rb factory. Charles goes down, no problem. West does down, no problem. Now on their 3rd rb and also fantasy relevant rb might I add it's remarkable what the Chiefs have done. Any Chiefs rb a must start, and definitely top 10 ROS. This game also saw the emergence of Sammy Watkins who had over 150 yards and 2 tds, but it was mostly acquired in the first half. On the strength of the first half, you're starting him next week, but just know he could disappear for a quarter or a half or a game. Dolphins season keeps getting worst, firing their oc today. Riashard Matthews left the game early so Davnte Parker worth an add, scored a td and had 80 yards this past week. On the other hand, Brandon Marshall has still got it. Not on pace for 100 catches, but most likely will obtain over 1,000 yards again and currently has 9 tds. Chris Ivory point totals have decreased as of late as it looks like he may be running out of gas, but until the tank is empty he's got to get flex consideration at least. Raiders snap a 3 game skid. Usual suspects: Cooper gets 100 yards and Crabtree scores, but Seth Roberts also scored..twice. Definitely worth a add this week. Roberts had a similar stretch like this early in the season so be weary. Kirk Cousins bounces back from a stinker last week with a 20 plus performance this week. Going against Dallas this week and the Eagles in championship week, might be worth a add. I'll caution you, Cousins is much better at home than on the road so be weary. I'm staying away from both Washington rbs this week and waiting and seeing who emerges, Morris did leave this game early, before I potentially start one. No Giant worth starting beside Beckham, and Manning if you have too. Darkwa worth a speculative add though. No other Giants rb has done anything this year. Chris Johnson is hurt, and potentially out for season. If you handcuffed, you're in good shape, but if you didn't go get Ellington off waivers this week, and handcuff him with David Johnson. Also, since Vernon Davis has been traded, 49ers te Vance Mcdonald, has scored in the past two weeks and at a te position that lacks skill players I'd start him this week if I had no one else. Big Ben torches Seahawks in Seattle for over 450 yards, but still loses. Don't buy into Marques Wheaton as that was how the game plan had to be with Richard Sherman locking down Antonio Brown. With that being said, I'm still starting Brown next week. Jimmy Graham went down for the season in this game and backup te Tyler Wilson might be worth a add, if you're hurting at the position. Not buying into no Seahawks wr after this week except maybe Baldwin in the flex. In the game of the week, the Broncos knock off the undefeated Patriots. Gronk left this game early and will be sidelined potentially for the rest of the fantasy season. Depending on if you need to handcuff, Scott Chandler is the no. 1 waiver priority. Also, a sneaky add is Brandon Bolden, who got more work than James White in this game, and scored. As for the Broncos, I'm not ready to start Osweiler in fantasy, but he's definitely a better option than Manning ROS for the Broncos in real football. If Anderson was dropped, rightfully so, pick him back as it might just be that he's only good during the second half of the season. I'm starting him and Hillman if I have them next week. And, I'm still starting DT next week. 1 catch on 10 targets, it was just a bad game. Buck Allen filled in nicely for Forsett on Monday Night, and should do the same next week. I will caution, after this week, the matchu ups get ugly so enjoy while you can. With Flacco out for season, no pass catcher worth a start, or a bench spot, at this point in the season. Same for the whole Browns offense, unless Mccown returns to the lineup next week then depending on the league, you're starting him and, of course, Gary Barnidge. But, if Mccown can't go, Branidge isn't startable, but if desperate, and if he gets the start, Manziel could be worth a start esp 2 qb leagues. EARLY WAIVER WIRE: AS OF RIGHT NOW, THE NO. 1 PRIORITY IS NE TE SCOTT CHANDLER, THEN HANDCUFF YOUR STARTING RBS, THEN BASED ON NEED. QB: KIRK COUSINS, JAY CUTLER, MATTHEW HASSLEBACK, JOHNNY MANZIEL RB: THEO RIDDICK (PPR), JOQIUE BELL (STANDARD), JAY AJAYI, ORLEANS DARKWA, ANDRE ELLINGTON, DAVID JOHNSON WR: DONTRELLE INMAN, DEVANTE PARKER, DOUG BALDWIN, SETH ROBERTS, COLE BEASLEY, BRYAN WALTERS TE: SCOTT CHANDLER, ZACH MILLER, BRENT CELEK, VANCE MCDONALD, LUKE WILSON, JACOB TAMME DISCLAIMER: NONE OF THESE NAMES ARE GUARANTEED TO MAKE THE COLUMN THE SAME WAY NAMES NOT ON THE LIST ARE NOT GUARANTEED TO NOT MAKE THE COLUMN.
