The draft is over. The season has started. But, that's just the tip of the iceberg. From here on out, I will compile a weekly list of players you should at least keep on your radar if not pick up. There will be distinctions as to players you plug and play for the week opposed to players you stash and players you speculate on. Keenan Allen is done. Zach Ertz is out. Phillip Rivers will struggle. Tyrod Taylor disappointed. You need replacements. Let's get to it.
QB: M. Ryan (A down year last season really shied people away this year, but Ryan was able to take advantage of a bad match up this past week and he has an even better one this week against Oakland) J. Garroppolo (I'm not seeing a huge drop off between this guy and Brady. In fact, I saw a pass he made to D. Amendola that was very Brady like. Fair matchup this week against the Dolphins. I'd plug and play if I had Taylor or Rivers.) C. Wentz (Stash guy here. Came out week 1 and surprised a lot of people. A nice matchup this week against Chicago. I'm just worried the Monday night stage might be too much for the rookie. I'm only starting Wentz this week in a 14 team plus or 2 QB league) B. Gabbert (The QB in a Chip Kelly offense has been productive in the past for fantasy (see Nick Foles 2013), but this week against Carolina, I wouldn't roll the dice on Gabbert. I'd roster if I had the bench, but if not just keep your eye on him for this week) RB (Tevin Coleman and Theo Riddick are 1 and 1A if available, I'm assuming they aren't) Jalen Richard (Nice breakout game this past week. Richard is now the handcuff you want if you have L. Murray. I'd flex Richard this week in ppr going up against Atlanta who struggle against pass catching RBs (see C. Simms week 1).) C. Thompson ( He's the pass catching back in Washington. M. Jones will not be a factor. Thompson is a must own in all PPR formats. Going up against Dallas this week might be worth a flex play this week.) T. Cadet (Stash add here. C.J. Spiller was just released today. Ingram seemed to struggle a bit in week 1. I'm not ready to give up on Ingram, but I can see the Saints saying hey listen focus on the running we're gonna bring in Cadet on passing downs.) S. Draughn (Speculate. Worth an add in deep PPR leagues.) S. Vereen (Vereen has appeared to carve out a role as the passing down back and with that being said I think it can work. Jennings did good in standard leagues and Vereen was flexible this past week. Going up against the Saints this week. Gonna be a shoot out.) WR (Will Fuller is no. 1 if avaliable, I'm assuming he isn't) E. Rogers (If you're the Keenan Allen owner, this is the guy you add, He's going to be the number two this year. Number one priority. Don't miss out on this guy.) T. Benjamin (The number one in San Diego now.) S. Coates (Should see some targets, but is firmly the no. 3 WR) V. Cruz (Scored last week. Maybe all that time off helped him? Wouldn't be surprised to see Beckham drop off a bit with the return of Cruz and Shephard.) C. Beasley (PPR add. 8 catches for 60 plus last week.) P. Dorsett (The Luck breakout season is back on now that he's healthy. I want every Indy target I can get) N. Agholor (The rookie QB seems to like him. Could turn out to be one of those Cutler - Marshall connections. Worth a speculative add.) D. Adams ( Speculative. I feel as though Nelson will struggle this year. When that is confirmed, Adams will be there to pick up the slack.) TE (I'm assuming Jesse James is not available, but he'd be no. 2 for me after Ebron.) E. Ebron (An offseason injury scared most off, but last week proved he's healthy and will be featured. Pick him up. Plug and play,) ASJ (The second week of the Winston breakout campaign continues this week against the Cardinals. Tough matchup, but I believe Winston will become elite this year so I'm rolling him out there along with Evans and Jenkins. Jenkins only had one target last week, but he made it count making it to the end zone. At such a poor position, let's see if he can do it again this week.) V. Green (Don't know how potent the Denver offense will be from week to week, but Green will be involved, and you never know you might get that touchdown from time to time. J. Doyle (Speculative. Scored twice last week. Allen scored once. A situation to monitor here. Don't roster just yet.) R. Rodgers (Stash. Cook disappointed once again. Not a great match up this week against the Vikings.) Defenses with good matchups: Bills (Playing Jets. You think Fitz throws a couple picks trying to stick it to his old team?) Ravens (Playing MCcown who just got inserted into the lineup. Could be ugly.) Jets (Tyrod struggled last week and now on a short week, I don't see things turning around.) Jaguars (Rivers is going to force the ball to Benjamin. Hopefully Jags can snag one and score.) Kickers with good matchups: (The key to kickers is a good offense who isn't good in redzone.) J. Myers M. Nugent M. Bryant W. Lutz S. Janikowski
